Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  Studies show that eating breakfast before school has continuously shown positive effects in children.  According to a recent survey conducted by American Egg Board, 82% of parents agree that eggs are a more nutritious breakfast than cereal.  So be sure to eat a good breakfast that includes one of the many delicious recipes found in this website! 
Ask a parent to help turn your kitchen into a fun, creative center for your new hobby - cooking!! 
Spend time with your family and create some special treats just for them.  They'll love you for it, and you'll learn valuable lessons about nutrition.

EAT SMART TO PLAY HARD

Use MyPlate to help you fuel up with foods from each food group.

To build a healthy plate it is necessary to include a variety of foods from each of the 5 food groups, fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy & protein.

  • FRUITS - Fuel up with fruits at meals or snacks
  • VEGETABLES - Color your plate with great - tasting veggies
  • GRAINS - Make at least half your grains Whole Grains
  • PROTEINS - Vary your protein foods
  • DAIRY - Get your calcium - rich foods
