Egg Wrapped BLT Burger

Ingredients

large eggs, broken into individual containers, beaten lightly

4-oz. burger patties, beef, pork, chicken, turkey or plant-based

slices bacon, cooked

ripe tomato slices

lettuce leaves

cheddar cheese slices

hamburger buns

mayonnaise

ketchup

Directions

  1. GRILL or GRIDDLE burgers until desired doneness.
  2. One minute before each burger is done, BEAT an egg onto the surface of a lightly oiled nonstick 12- to 14-inch sauté pan or large griddle, quickly TILT pan around to SPREAD egg out to coat entire bottom of pan.
  3. COOK until lightly brown on pan side and cooked through.
  4. ADD burger to center of pan. FOLD egg over in five folds to encase burger.
  5. Gently FLIP burger and PRESS firmly to seal closed.
  6. TRANSFER to tray layered with sliced tomatoes. PLACE each egg-wrapped burger on top of a tomato slice. SET ASIDE until ready to assemble.
  7. To assemble, GRILL or TOAST buns. SLATHER with mayonnaise and ketchup.
  8. LAYER lettuce leaf on bottom of bun, TOP with tomato and egg-wrapped burger. Then ADD one slice cheese and two slices bacon. TOP with bun.
